Magufuli | Gets Honored

Magufuli | the President of Tanzania, gets thumbs up from Africans Diaspora for his actions on destruction of corruptions in Tanzania.

Upon taking office, Magufuli swiftly implemented measures to reduce government expenditure, including prohibiting unnecessary foreign travel for government officials. He advocated for the use of more economical vehicles and boardrooms for transportation and meetings, respectively. And reduced the delegation for a Commonwealth tour from 50 to just 4 individuals.

The Great Example

Magufuli canceled Tanzania’s sponsorship of a World AIDS Day exhibition in favor of buying AIDS medication. He discouraged lavish events and parties by public institutions. President Magufuli cut his own salary from US$15,000 to US$4,000 per month. He also canceled the country’s Independence Day celebrations for 2015, opting instead for a national clean-up campaign to combat the spread of cholera. Magufuli took part in the clean-up, stating, “It is so shameful that we are spending huge amounts of money to celebrate 54 years of independence when our people are dying of cholera.” The savings were allocated for improvements in hospitals and sanitation. His actions have garnered extensive approval from the African Diaspora. This stands as a bold message to other African leaders to awaken and free Africa and her children from corruption and mental slavery.#WakeUpAndWiseUpAfrica

Infrastructures

Magufuli’s administration focused on various infrastructure projects aimed at economic growth. These projects included acquiring several Air Tanzania aircraft to rejuvenate the national airline.
Expanding Terminal III of Julius Nyerere International Airport.
Constructing the Tanzania Standard Gauge Railway. Mfugale Flyover, Julius Nyerere Hydropower Station, Ubungo Interchange, the new Selander Bridge, Kigongo-Busisi Bridge, health service improvements through Huduma Bora Za Afya and Vituo Bora Za Afya, enlarging the Port of Dar es Salaam, building the Dodoma Bus Terminal, a liquefied natural gas plant, a water project, a wind farm project, Uhuru Hospital, a gold refinery, and the Magufuli Bus Terminal. Magufuli earned the nickname “The Bulldozer” for his infrastructure initiatives and his efforts to cut government spending and corruption. The hashtag “#WhatWouldMagufuliDo” became popular on Twitter as users shared their personal cost-saving actions inspired by the president’s austerity measures after his inauguration.

Law Against The LGBTQ In Tanzania

People convicted of same-sex liaisons in Tanzania can be jailed for up to 30 years.
This is not only in Tanzania but in most African countries as well.
In October 2016, the Tanzanian government banned HIV/AIDS outreach projects, and closed US-funded programs that provide HIV testing, condoms and medical care to the gay community.
The countrywide closure of private HIV clinics began soon afterward.
In late 2018, Magufuli initiated a nationwide crackdown, threatening to arrest and deport anyone campaigning for gay rights. He made sure it’s difficult to find a lawyer who will defend cases of violence against LGBTQ people. Paul Makonda, Magufuli’s regional commissioner of the capital Dar es Salaam, stated in 2016 that: “If there’s a homosexual who has a Facebook account, or with an Instagram account, it is then very clear that all those who ‘follow’ him —
are just as guilty as the homosexual”.
Two years later, he announced that a committee of 17 members consisting of police, lawyers and doctors, had been formed to identify homosexuals.
Within one day of the announcement authorities reportedly received 5,763 messages from the public, with more than 100 names.
